Dhobi Ghat- Drama Based on A Real Life Incident


Aamir Khan’s new venture, Dhobi Ghaat, which is a much awaited movie this year. The movie is expected to be released in second half of this year 2010.

Story

According to latest news the story of the movie is said to be based on a real life story. The movie is being crafted under the Documentary Drama genre. The movie in all is said to portray an altogether new concept much different from the ongoing movie tales and characters. With AK playing the part of a painter who owns a small studio in Mumbai, Prateik is touted to play the part of a dhobi. The movie is centered on the Dhobi Ghaat in Mumbai which is where the traditional dhobis live and earn bread from primarily.

Cast and Crew

The full cast of the movie is still not disclosed, but the announcements that stand official is that Amir Khan, will play one lead role. The second lead role is being played by Prateek Babbar (son of Raj Babbar) . Prateek has already shown us his acting talent in playing Ginelia’s brothers role in Jane Tu Ya Jane Na. So, Prateek has already worked in Aamir Khan camp. Initially thought of a cameo appearance in fact is a full-fledged part, turning the marketing gimmick into a rumor and then a reality now.

Production

The movie is being directed by Kiran Rao (wife of Aamir Khan). The movie is being produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, the husband-wife duo. The music of the film is being given by Ram Sampath.
