The coordinator of the Toronto film festival, Cameron Bailey was here in Mumbai looking out for films and the happy news is that Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat actually caught his attention and has been selected for Toronto Film Festival 2010. Initially nothing was clear as the guesses were being directed towards Marathi flicks that are nowadays performing pretty well than our own Bollywood, but no certainty could be drawn from that aspect.

It was only until an insider confirmed to the issue that Cameron Bailey was intensely taken over by the movie Dhobi Ghat as he tweeted,” Found a film in Bombay. If it hits you like it hit me, it will leave you drenched with emotions you can’t quite name.”
As a matter of fact Kiran Rao as a film maker has accomplished loads by getting this sort of acknowledgement for her debut feature.

Even though there is not much information about the films plot but the movie is set in Mumbai with the back drop of Dhobi Ghat, Mohammed Ali Road and Marine Drive in particular. The flick has four leading characters, with Amir Khan playing the role of a painter. The paths of these four characters cross on Dhobi Ghat and it is from here the story takes a turn of events.
